Amanda Holden had a tough time controlling her emotions as she remembered the moment she was revived thanks to an UNUSUAL MEDICATION that the doctor administered: “I was pronounced de@d at that point.”

Amanda Holden recently shared an emotional reflection on a life-changing moment from 2012 when she nearly lost her life during the birth of her second daughter, Hollie.

The 54-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge opened up during a heartfelt conversation with Alan Carr on their BBC show, Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job.

In a deeply personal moment, Amanda and Alan were seen unwinding with a bottle of Cava after a long day of renovating properties in Spain.

As they took in the picturesque surroundings, the conversation turned to life’s fleeting nature.

Amanda spoke candidly about her experience, admitting that she now views life differently after her traumatic ordeal.

Amanda’s Traumatic Birth Experience

In 2012, Amanda welcomed her second daughter, Hollie, with her husband, music producer Chris Hughes. However, what should have been a joyous occasion quickly turned into a nightmare. Amanda revealed that complications during childbirth led to her being placed in a coma, and for a brief moment, she was medically dead.

“Without being too maudlin, I had a really difficult birth with Hollie, which ended up with me in a coma. I died,” Amanda recalled, her voice filled with emotion. “I was in intensive care, and the baby was fine. And then when I came round and everything was alright, I never stopped thinking about death after that—how easy and close it is to you, all the time.”

Her words resonated deeply, and Alan, visibly moved, nodded in understanding. Amanda continued, emphasizing how the experience changed her perspective on life. “Life is so precious. It can disappear from you so fast. I’m like, ‘Make every second count,’ literally,” she added.

A Life-Altering Perspective on Mortality

The near-death experience had a profound impact on Amanda, making her more aware of life’s fragility. Though she admits she is not particularly religious, she holds a strong belief that those who pass on go somewhere beyond this life.

“When you lose someone, you believe, don’t you, that they’ve gone somewhere? I don’t believe it’s the end,” she shared, reflecting on how the experience shaped her thoughts on mortality.

Despite the seriousness of the topic, Amanda’s natural charm and humor shone through. As she and Alan shared another drink, she lightened the mood with a giggle and an unexpected burp, adding a touch of laughter to an otherwise heavy conversation.

Cherishing Family Moments

Amanda is now more dedicated than ever to making the most of her time with her family. She and Chris Hughes, whom she married in 2008 after meeting in Los Angeles in 2003, share two daughters: Alexa, 18, and Hollie, now 12.

In February, Amanda enjoyed a lavish family getaway to Barbados, making cherished memories with her youngest daughter. She shared stunning snapshots from the trip, looking radiant as she posed with Hollie during a boat ride. Amanda exuded confidence and glamour in her vacation looks, accessorizing with statement jewelry and embracing the sunshine with stylish beachwear.

Juggling a Busy Career

Despite her near-death experience, Amanda remains one of the busiest personalities in British entertainment. She recently returned to the judging panel of Britain’s Got Talent for its 18th season, a role she has held since the show’s launch in 2007. Additionally, she continues to co-host Heart Breakfast, balancing her radio duties with TV projects.

Her partnership with Alan Carr has also flourished, with Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job becoming a fan favorite. The duo has filmed three successful series of their property renovation show and even co-hosted the Royal Variety Performance.

However, with Britain’s Got Talent now running for four months instead of its usual shorter season, Amanda’s schedule has become even more demanding. She and her fellow judges—Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli—have had to adjust their commitments to accommodate the show’s extended run.

Embracing Life with Gratitude

Amanda’s emotional revelation serves as a reminder of how quickly life can change. Her traumatic experience in 2012 left an indelible mark, but it also deepened her appreciation for every moment. Through her career, family life, and personal reflections, she continues to inspire many with her resilience, humor, and unwavering zest for life.
