Kelly Ripa shared a firm family guideline that Mark must adhere to, or their marriage could be in jeopardy: “That’s as far as I will go.”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have never been ones to shy away from discussing their marriage,

and their latest conversation reveals a key “dealbreaker” in their decades-long relationship.

During a recent episode of “Live With Kelly and Mark,” the couple engaged in a lighthearted but revealing debate about the importance of sharing locations in a romantic partnership.

Ripa, 54, made it clear that she has no interest in knowing her husband’s whereabouts at all times.

“No, the last thing I want to know is where you are at all times,” she stated, emphasizing that she and Consuelos, 53, do not track each other’s locations.

“I don’t need to know that. I know where you are here, and that’s enough for me.”

Consuelos, on the other hand, pointed out that when Ripa does need to find him, she usually knows where to look. “I’m usually upstairs in my den whenever you’re looking for me,” he quipped. However, he admitted that in a dating scenario, the idea of sharing locations can feel different. “I think it’s a little weird if somebody asks you—if you’re dating and they ask for your location,” he said. “It’s something that I think the person should offer to you. ‘Hey, I’m going to share my location with you.’”

Ripa, however, pushed back on the idea, questioning why her partner would even need such information. “Where do they think you are though? I can tell them where you are,” she said. “To me, it’s a dealbreaker if you need to know where I am. I’m where I told you I am, and you don’t need to know anything more.”

Although Ripa doesn’t believe in routinely sharing locations, she did acknowledge that there are rare situations where it could be helpful. She recalled a time when she got lost during a solo hike in Colorado. “I went hiking by myself, and Mark said, ‘Don’t do it,’ and I said, ‘I know where I am.’ Of course, I got lost,” she admitted. Consuelos then suggested she share her location so he could help her navigate back. “Mark said, ‘Share your location with me, and I’ll guide you home,’ but I could not do that,” she recalled. “You walked me through it, but it was very stressful for us.”

The couple, who first met in 1995 while playing love interests on the soap opera “All My Children,” have built a strong foundation over the years. After eloping in 1996, they welcomed their three children: Michael in 1997, Lola in 2001, and Joaquin in 2003. Now, as empty nesters, they continue to open up about their relationship dynamics, both on and off the screen.

Their bond has only strengthened with time, even as they’ve transitioned into working together as co-hosts of “Live.” When Consuelos officially replaced Ryan Seacrest as Ripa’s co-host in 2023, she had just one piece of advice for him. “The thing I love about Mark is how funny he is,” Ripa said. “The advice I gave him was to just keep being yourself, enjoy every moment, and be present. He took it from there.”

Despite their differing views on location-sharing, one thing is clear: Ripa and Consuelos have an unshakable connection built on trust, humor, and mutual respect. Their candid conversations and willingness to debate even the smallest details of their marriage are part of what has made them such a beloved couple for nearly three decades.

While some couples might see location-sharing as an essential part of their relationship, Ripa and Consuelos have proven that their love thrives on independence and mutual understanding. Whether it’s navigating the challenges of married life, parenting, or even getting lost in the woods, their strong foundation ensures they always find their way back to each other.
