Jenna Bush Hager caused a shock when she said she was NOT HAPPY with her future co-host on TODAY: “If she’s in, I’m out.”

Jenna Bush Hager has been making waves on Today with Jenna & Friends, her revamped version of the Fourth Hour on NBC, and fans have taken notice.

Since stepping into a solo hosting role following Hoda Kotb’s departure in January, Jenna has been joined by a rotating lineup of celebrity guest co-hosts.

However, one particular guest has sparked a major reaction from viewers, leading to calls for a permanent change.

Fans Rally Behind Heather McMahan

Throughout the past several weeks, Jenna has been joined by a variety of well-known personalities,

including Eva Longoria, Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, and Scarlett Johansson.

But it was comedian Heather McMahan who truly stole the show.

The chemistry between Jenna and Heather was undeniable, and fans immediately took to social media to voice their support for making Heather a full-time addition. Comments flooded in, with viewers saying things like, “Our fave duo, we need her back every week!” and “Heather needs to be the permanent co-host! She is perfect and hilarious!!”

The overwhelmingly positive response has sparked discussions about whether Today should reconsider its format and bring in a stable co-host rather than continue with the rotating guest approach.

A New Era for the Fourth Hour

Jenna Bush Hager has been a staple on the Fourth Hour of Today since 2019, when she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford and co-hosted alongside Hoda Kotb. However, when Hoda stepped away from the show on January 10, Today with Hoda & Jenna underwent a transformation. The network opted not to assign a permanent co-host, instead rebranding the program as Today with Jenna & Friends.

While Jenna has embraced the challenge of leading the show solo, the shift in format has left some viewers longing for a more consistent dynamic. The success of her pairing with Heather McMahan has only amplified that sentiment.

Jenna Reflects on Hoda’s Departure

Jenna has been open about how much she misses working with Hoda Kotb. Speaking about Hoda’s exit, she jokingly described feeling like she had been “dumped,” as many people congratulated Hoda on her decision to step away.

“I am so proud of her,” Jenna said. “Although, I will say I walk around even here, and people are like, ‘Congratulations, Hoda!’ And I feel like the girl that just got dumped. And people are like, ‘You made the best choice, Hoda!’ And I’m like, ‘Did she? Did she make the best choice?’”

Despite the lightheartedness of her remarks, it’s clear that Jenna has had to adjust to the changes on the show. She has even joked about showing up at Hoda’s door unannounced just to maintain their connection.

A Balancing Act Between Career and Family

While Jenna continues to thrive on Today, she also prioritizes her family life. She is a devoted mother to three children—Mila, Poppy, and Hal—whom she shares with her husband, Henry Hager.

Beyond television, Jenna is also a successful author. She and her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, have co-written multiple books, with their latest, I Loved You First, set for release on March 25. Described as a heartwarming celebration of parental love, the book will be accompanied by a tour in cities such as Charleston, Tampa, and Dallas.

What’s Next for Today with Jenna & Friends?

As Today with Jenna & Friends continues to evolve, it remains to be seen whether the producers will take fan feedback into account and make Heather McMahan a permanent fixture. Given the overwhelming support for Heather’s presence, it wouldn’t be surprising if discussions are already taking place behind the scenes.

For now, Jenna continues to embrace her solo hosting duties with enthusiasm, but if fans get their wish, she may soon have a new official co-host by her side.
