Penny Lancaster recently revealed that she and her husband, Sir Rod Stewart, have distanced themselves from former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The former model and television personality discussed the matter while appearing on the panel of “Loose Women,”
where she shared that she has forbidden her husband from attending Trump-hosted gatherings.
For years, Penny and Rod were part of Trump’s social circle, frequently attending his lavish parties.

Given that Trump’s residence is just five minutes away from their Florida home, invitations were common. Initially, everything appeared normal, and the couple enjoyed these events.

However, Penny explained that her perspective shifted significantly when Trump re-entered the political arena and began his campaign for another term in office.

During the discussion, Penny admitted that at first, their interactions with Trump were uneventful. “We used to go to parties hosted by him. He looked after all his guests, and it seemed fine,” she shared. But things changed drastically as Trump’s rhetoric became more extreme. “When he began to run for President again, I started to hear those dangerous rhetorics.”
She went on to say that Trump’s behavior and statements crossed several boundaries, leading her to take a stand. “I was just like, ‘Woah, this is crossing all sorts of boundaries here.’ And from that point onwards, I said to my husband, ‘We are not going anywhere near him again.’”
Rod Stewart himself has also expressed disapproval of Trump in recent years. Last year, during a concert in Las Vegas at The Colosseum, the “Maggie May” singer took a subtle jab at the former President. During his performance, Stewart displayed a post on a large screen featuring four different images of Trump. The images appeared in a gradient of shades of orange, accompanied by a caption poking fun at Trump’s distinctive tan: “I didn’t know he was Orange until a number of years ago when he happened to turn Orange.”

The post continued with an ironic twist: “I respect either one, but he obviously doesn’t because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went – he became an Orange person. I think somebody should look into that.”
Penny was joined on “Loose Women” by fellow panelists Kaye Adams, Linda Robson, and Jane Moore as she discussed her and Rod’s decision to cut ties with Trump. Her comments sparked conversations among fans and viewers, many of whom praised her for taking a firm stance.
This revelation comes amid growing public scrutiny of Trump’s influence and behavior, with many public figures choosing to distance themselves from him. While Penny and Rod were once part of the social circle that surrounded Trump, they have now made it clear that their association with him has come to an end. Penny’s insistence that Rod avoid future interactions with Trump highlights how deeply her concerns run regarding his rhetoric and policies.

Although Rod Stewart has previously been open about his political views, including criticisms of both American and British politicians, his public disapproval of Trump has gained attention. His decision to use a concert as a platform for a subtle yet pointed remark about the former President’s appearance and behavior suggests that he, like Penny, has grown increasingly disenchanted with Trump.
As Penny Lancaster and Rod Stewart continue to voice their perspectives, their decision to step away from Trump aligns with a broader trend of celebrities and public figures reassessing their connections in light of political and ethical concerns. Their experience serves as another example of how individuals in the entertainment industry navigate their personal and professional relationships amid shifting political landscapes.
