Wynne Evans, the *Strictly Come Dancing* star, has humorously admitted that he tried 

and failed – to find a Welshman for his dance partner, Katya Jones, to date during their time together on the show. 

Despite his best efforts to introduce Katya to every eligible man in Wales, it seems that love remains elusive for the professional dancer.

Katya, who has been single since 2019 following her split from fellow *Strictly* pro Neil Jones, has spent the past few years focusing on her career and personal growth. 

The pair were paired up for the 2023 season of *Strictly*, and Wynne jokingly promised to help Katya find a new man, even going so far as to attempt to introduce her to multiple suitors. 

However, Katya, 35, recently shared that their busy dance schedules simply got in the way of any serious matchmaking.

In an interview with *The Mail on Sunday*, Katya quipped, “Wynne said he would find me a husband in Wales but we were too busy dancing in the end. I am certainly still single. I’m going to have to ask him about that.” Wynne, 52, responded playfully, saying, “I did introduce her to every man in Wales. But unfortunately, none of them were good enough.” Despite the humor, it’s clear that the efforts didn’t quite work out as planned, and Katya remains unattached.

Katya’s journey through singlehood is one she’s embraced with a sense of self-awareness. In December, she shared a candid post on social media about her relationship status, expressing that while she values being single, she will only enter into a relationship when someone worthy comes along. “Do I like being single? Yes, I do. Do I wish I were in a relationship? Absolutely. But here’s the thing: I will stay single until I find someone whose presence is more valuable than my solitude, someone who truly appreciates and respects me,” she wrote. She continued, “Until I find that person, I’m perfectly happy with myself. My peace and my self-worth are far too important to settle for anything less.”

Katya’s attitude toward her single life highlights the importance she places on self-respect and emotional well-being, refusing to settle for less than what she deserves in a partner. 

The breakdown of Katya’s marriage to Neil Jones was publicly discussed after the infamous kiss scandal between Katya and her *Strictly* partner, Seann Walsh, in 2018. At the time, both Katya and Seann were in relationships with other people, and the photos of the kiss caused a media frenzy. Katya and Neil’s marriage, which had already been facing challenges, ultimately came to an end in 2019, a year after the scandal. However, despite speculation that the kiss was the driving force behind their split, both Katya and Neil have clarified that it wasn’t the sole reason for their divorce.

In a 2020 interview with *The Sun*, Neil, 42, revealed that the couple simply grew apart over time. “We found that we’d grown apart like people do, so we were like, ‘OK, let’s go our separate ways,’” Neil explained. He added, “We are lucky that we don’t have kids. It had nothing to do with what happened [with Seann]. We were moving in different directions but we are friends again now. Katya is a great girl and I’ve got nothing bad to say about her.”

While Katya and Neil have remained on good terms and have both moved forward with their lives, Katya’s post about valuing solitude underscores her commitment to healing and focusing on herself. Although her time on *Strictly* has brought her closer to colleagues like Wynne Evans, it seems that her next relationship will only come when the right person enters her life.

For now, Katya’s focus remains on her career and her own well-being.
